On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, in Kissimmee, Florida, Mr. Arnold Lavon Dobson was called from earthy toils to reward.  Born December 3, 1959 in Hampton, South Carolina, he was son of Mrs. Martha Dobson and the late Pastor Evans Dobson.

At an early age, Arnold became a baptized member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina.  He was a 1977 graduate of Wade Hampton High School, Varnville, South Carolina.  Upon graduation, Arnold enlisted in the United States Marine, serving his country honorably.  He was discharged from active duty May, 1987. 

Arnold, for many years, was formerly employed by the Department of Corrections facilities located, Allendale and Columbia, South Carolina.  Most recently, he was employed as a truck driver for GAF Building Materials, Inc. of Statesboro, Georgia.

He had an avid joy for motorcycle riding as well as playing and watching sports of all sorts.

Preceding him in death was his father, Pastor Evans Dobson.

To mourn his departure are: His son, Andre Lavon Dobson of Hampton, South Carolina; His grandson, D’Andre Capers-Dobson of Summerville, South Carolina; His mother, Ms. Martha Dobson of Hampton, South Carolina; (2) Sisters: Toreacher Dobson of Hampton, South Carolina and Connie D. Nwabude of Atlanta, Georgia; (1) Brother, Reverend Lee E. (Vanessa) Dobson of Montverde, Florida; (1) Adopted brother, Timothy Capers of Madison, Alabama; (3) Aunts: Mrs. Corine (Earl) Capers of Varnville, South Carolina, Ms. Alene Fair of Robertsville, South Carolina, and Ms. Dorothy Clark of St. Petersburg, Florida; (1) Uncle, Mr. Andrew Jenkins of Tampa, Florida; (6) Nieces; (5) Nephews; Other relatives and caring friends, which includes a special friend, Marcella Brown of Hampton, South Carolina.
