On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, Mannie Jamison, Jr. was called from labor to reward at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, New York.  He was born February 24, 1943 in Islandton, South Carolina, one of seven siblings to the late Mr. Mannie Jamison, Sr. and Mrs. Clara Fennell Jamison. 

Mannie was educated in the former Deep Creek School of Islandton, South Carolina.  At an early age, he joined Deep Creek Missionary Baptist Church of Islandton, South Carolina.  The joys of his life were barbering and playing the guitar.

Mannie was gainfully self-employed in the construction industry as a roofer.

On September 4, 1965, he married the former Ms. Dorothy Crosby.  The Lord blessed this union with five industrious sons.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents is one brother, Monroe Jamison.

To cherish fond memories are: His wife, Mrs. Dorothy Jamison; (5) Sons: Derrick (Katrina) Jamison of Richmond, Virginia, Wayne (Sabrena) Jamison of Portland, Oregon, Sean (Linda) Jamison of Charlotte, North Carolina, Eric (Candace) Jamison of Portland, Oregon, and Mannie Carter of Bronx, New York; (18) Grandchildren; (1) Great grandchild; (3) Sisters: Sally Crawford and Mabelean Johnson, both of Islandton, S. C., and Audrey Holmes of Cottageville, South Carolina; (2) Brothers: Jerome (Linda) Jamison and Jeroy (Evangelist Carolyn) Jamison, both of Islandton, South Carolina;  (11) Aunts; (7) Uncles;  His mother-in-law, Idella Jamison of Islandton, South Carolina; (5) Sisters-in-law: Mary Ancrum and Evelyn (Frankie) Williams, all of Columbia, South Carolina, Hattie (Arthur) Gant of Walterboro, South Carolina, Claretha Buckner of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ess Gibbs of Queens, New York; (2) Brothers-in-law: Isaac (Barbara) Crosby and Bishop Luther Capers, both of Islandton, South Carolina; There are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loving friends.
