Varnville, South Carolina - On Tuesday, January 22, 2013, our Savior called from earth toils our beloved Mrs. Deloris Smith at her residence in Varnville, South Carolina. She was born one of five siblings on January 26, 1937 in Hampton, South Carolina to the late Mr. Eddie Haynes and Mrs. Cora Lee Davis Haynes. She was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina. At an early age, she became of member of Antioch Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Varnville, South Carolina. Upon marriage, Mrs. Smith united in fellowship with the congregation of Blunt Chapel C.M.E. Church of Varnville, South Carolina.
She was married to the late Mr. Steward Capers. After the death of Mr. Capers, the former Ms. Deloris Capers met and married Mr. Lewis Smith. She was a devoted housewife and mother.
She is preceded in death by (2) Sisters: Ms. Carolyn Davis and Ms. Margaret Sutton; (4) Brothers: Mr. John Grant, Mr. Floyd Grant, Mr. Mack Grant and Mr. Eddie Haynes.
To cherish her memories are her husband, Mr. Lewis Smith of Varnville, South Carolina; (1) Daughter, Ms. Magdaline Riley of Varnville, South Carolina; (7) Grandchildren: Eric Young of Columbia, South Carolina, Elizabeth (Reggie) Scott of Atlanta, Georgia, Christopher Haynes of Orlanda, Florida, Rosa Riley of Beaufort, South Carolina, Bobby Riley of Gillisonville, South Carolina, Leonard Riley of Varnville, South Carolina and Christopher Haynes, Jr. of Varnville, South Carolina; (2) Sisters: Ms. Ethel Priester and Ms. Nerva Edwards, both of Varnville, South Carolina; (1) Brother, Robbie Haynes of Varnville, South Carolina; (5) Sisters-in-law; (2) Brothers-in-law; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, which includes Mrs. Beverly Jenkins of Varnville, South Carolina.
