Robert Lee Wright was born May 1, 1942 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Aline Green Wright. On January 31st 2013 Robert departed this earth at UniHealth Post Acute Care of the Low Country in Estill, South Carolina.
Robert was a graduate of the former North District Training School of Varnville, South Carolina. He served in the United States Army from February 9, 1967 to March 19, 1969, from which he was honorably discharged. At an early age, Robert became a member of Antioch Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Varnville, South Carolina. He enjoyed his work as a painter for many years.
Robert (Bobby for those of us who knew him) was a devoted brother and uncle to his several nieces and nephews. He will always be remembered for his kindness, his bright and cheery personality and his contagious smile.
Robert was preceded in death by two brothers: James Allen Wright and Arthur Wright, Sr.
Robert leaves to mourn: One Sister, Minnie Lee Harris of Wilmington, DE; One Brother, Willie Wright, Jr. of the Bronx, NY; Two sisters-in-law: Edith Wright of the Bronx, NY and Catherine Wright of Wilmington, DE; One uncle, David Nelson of New York, NY; One aunt, Rita Greene of Houston, TX; Nine nieces and three nephews; He also leaves behind three devoted cousins: Haiston Green of Varnville, SC, Jessie Wright of Hampton, SC and Charles Williams of Varnville, SC.; A host of many other relatives and friends.
