On Friday, November 2, 2018, at Roper Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina, our beloved Brother Berness Glover succumbed to the voice of his Creator. He welcomed the call and entered into eternal rest. He was born March 5, 1940, a son of the late Mr. Lucius Glover and Mrs. Florence Doctor Glover. Berness was educated in the public schools of Hampton County, South Carolina. At a young age, he confessed Christ and became a baptized member of Antioch Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Varnville, South Carolina. He demonstrated his confession, participating as an active member of Antioch’s: Senior Choir, Usher Board, and the Male Chorus. His love for music led him to also become a member of the former Mighty Imperial Gospel Singers of Varnville, South Carolina. He was a lifelong entrepreneur of Glover’s Construction Company, a master of many trades, specializing in flooring. In addition to his parents, Berness was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyrone Pryor, Jr. (T. J. ); four brothers: Ed Glover, Perry Glover, Luke Glover and Willis Glover; and five sisters: Lucy Minus, Corean Glover, Mamie Williams, Lucille Williams, and Ellen Iola Glover. To cherish glorious memories: his wife of the home, Elease Glover; (3) Daughters: Elease Williams (Toby), Mernice Savage (Donald), and Vernest Pryor (Tyrone), all of Varnville, South Carolina; (2) Sons: Berness Glover, Jr. of Beaufort, South Carolina and Leonard Johnson (Wilhemenia) of Fairfax, South Carolina; (16) Grandchildren, which includes a special grand and caregiver, Rodnessa Glover; (26) Great grands; (4) Sisters-in-law: Dorothy Williams (Bishop Leroy) of Hampton, South Carolina, Mary Johnson, CataLou Johnson, and Lora Jean Green, all of Brunson, South Carolina; A brother-in-law, Deacon Johnnie Moore of Hampton, South Carolina; A host of nieces and nephews, which includes a special nephew (Lenon Glover), other relatives and loving friends.
