A Life We Cherished

Mr. Edison Davis, 87, the son of the late Mr. Calvin Morris and Ms. Nora Davis, was born on January 3, 1931, in Hampton County, SC.  He was reared and cared for by Mrs. Rosa Davis of Varnville, SC.  On Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at his residence in Varnville, the Lord called Edison “Daddy Shak” Davis to eternal rest. 

Mr. Davis received his education in the public schools of Hampton County, SC; and, he was employed for many years as a logger at Orr Logging Company of Nixville, SC. 

On May 16, 1983, Edison was united in marriage to the late Mrs. Carrie Jenkins Davis. 

Cherishing his memories are: (1) Son, Michael (Michelle) Walker of Lexington, SC; (1) Daughter, Diane Johnson of Hampton, SC; Beloved step-children: Barbara Gilbert of Early Branch, SC, JoAnn (Terrance) Greene of Varnville, SC, Benjamin (Mary Ann) Walker of Tarboro, SC, Clara Walker of Varnville, SC, Leon (Elizabeth) Walker of Rincon, GA, Donnell Walker of Lena, SC, and Melissa Davis of Varnville, SC; (3) Grandchildren: Payton, Justin, and Tayla Walker, all of Lexington, SC; (1) Brother, George Morris of Varnville, SC; (2) Sisters: Evelyn Morris of Varnville, SC and Louise Morris of Hampton, SC; (2) Brothers-in-law: Wilbur Wiggins and Minister Jay Lee Jenkins, both of Varnville, SC; A loving and devoted caregiver, Crystal Fennell; a devoted nephew, William Haynes; Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many devoted friends.
