Sister Delaris “Nuda” Hays entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Colleton Medical Center, Walterboro, South Carolina.  She was born in Hampton County, South Carolina on March 24, 1944 to the late Mr. Paul Hays and Mrs. Eloise Murdaugh Hays-White.

She was affectionately known as “Nuda”; and she was loved by so many people.   Everyone she met was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Nuda would often tell the staff at Josie Drive and the Colleton County Disability Board to give “so and so a dollar for Nuda.”  Her love for gospel music and her fashionable pocketbooks were unparalleled.

Nuda was a member of Miley Church of God, Miley, South Carolina until March, 2002.  At that time, her mother could no longer care for Nuda due to her health status.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. Paul Hays and Mrs. Eloise Murdaugh Hays-White; Her step-father, Mr. Buster White; two brothers, Cleveland and Thaddeus Hays.

Cherishing her loving memories are:  One sister, Mary Capers of Yemassee, South Carolina; One sister-in-law, Nidsa Hays of Savannah, Georgia; A devoted niece, Cheryl (Kevin) Greene of Yemassee, South Carolina; Nieces: Darlene (Earl, Sr.) Boston of Columbia, South Carolina, Michele (Michael) Walker of Lexington, South Carolina, Paulette (Michael) Harris of El Paso, Texas, Nidsa (Kenneth) Baker of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Gloria Hays of Los Angeles, California, and Jacqueline and Christie Hays of Houston, Texas; Five nephews: Theodore Capers of Camp Humphreys, South Korea, Thaddeus (Paulette) Hays, Jr. of Katy, Texas, Don and Antoine Hays, James (Doreen) Scott of Kingstree, South Carolina; One step-sister,  Walene Penn of Allendale, South Carolina; Four step-brothers: Jimmy (Geralean) White of Varnville, South Carolina, Ricky (Chevelle) White of Hampton, South Carolina, Randy (Malinda) White of Smoaks, South Carolina, and Gerald (Lois) White of Miley, South Carolina; Two uncles: Theodore (Betty) Murdaugh and Edward (Dorothy) Murdaugh, both of Hampton, South Carolina; A host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and caring friends.
