Mr. Alonza Jones
Varnville - Funeral service for Mr. Alonza Jones, 55, of 368 Jumper Street will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010, 3:00 P.M. at Good Hope Baptist Church, Estill, South Carolina.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Pastor Joe Steve, Jr. will be officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 28, 2010 from 6-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Washington's Funeral Home of Hampton has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.

Brother Alonza Jones, a dedicated son of Mrs. Rosa Lee Jones and the late Deacon Richard Jones Sr., was called home to rest on Monday, May 24, 2010.

Alonza was born in Estill, South Carolina on January 10, 1955.  Being reared in a Christian home and nurtured in a love for God, Alonzo accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and joined Good Hope Baptist Church, Estill, South Carolina.  He graduated from Estill High School in 1974.  He was a loyal employee at Nevamar, formerly Westinghouse Micarta Division, Hampton, South Carolina, for 25 years.

He is preceded in death by his father, Deacon Richard Jones, Sr.; and brothers: Richard Jones Jr. and Jimmy (Diane) Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His life partner, Ms. Sylvia A. Brown; Daughters: Mrs. Kimberly (Alvin) Pressley, Mrs. Wanda (Primus) Powell and Ms. Syrita (Johnasses) Brown; Sons: Mr. Thaddeus (Seneinka) Jones, Mr. Lorenzo Jones and SSgt. Bruce (Syreeta) Brown; A beloved mother, Mrs. Rosa Lee Jones, Estill, South Carolina; Four sisters: Mrs. Minnie Devore, Estill, South Carolina, Mrs. Betty (Jerry) Evans, Charlotte, North Carolina, Mrs. Alberta (James) Gunter, Greenville, South Carolina and Ms. Helen Nealy, Charlotte, North Carolina; Three brothers, Mr. Willie Jones, Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Nathan (Linda) Jones, Varnville, South Carolina, Mr. Benjamin Jones, Estill, South Carolina; Thirteen grandchildren; Five aunts; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends.
