Orangeburg--Funeral Services for Norman Leon Hayes, 47, were held Saturday, July 31, 2010, 12:00 Noon, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina. Interment followed in Blackville Cemetery. Pastor Floyd Hughes, Sr. officiated.
The family received friends Friday evening, July 30, 2010 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary of Macedonia Baptist Church, 3572 Dexter Avenue, Blackville, South Carolina. Washington’s Funeral Home of Hampton was entrusted with funeral arrangements.
Norman Leon Hayes, son of Ms. Joan Jessie Hayes and the late Mr. Norman Hayes, received the call of his Creator on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was born June 20, 1963 in Barnwell County, South Carolina.
Leon spent his childhood in Williston, South Carolina where he graduated from Williston-Elko High School, Williston, South Carolina. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina. Upon relocating to Orangeburg, Leon was employed for more than sixteen years as a manager by Wal-Mart of Orangeburg, South Carolina.
He was a baptized member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Blackville, South Carolina.
Leon was an avid (die-hard) Pittsburg Steelers fan, paralleled by his love for the Los Angeles Lakers. He was a humble person, always showing the world his love through smiles.

Green of Manhattan, New York, Ms. Dorothy Washington, Ms. Gloria Washington, Mrs. Marcella (Emanuel) Raysor, Mrs. Eartha (Spencer) Braxton, Mrs. Henrietta (Sam) Nickens and Mr. Larry Smith, all of Blackville, South Carolina, Ms. Louise Salley of Columbia, South Carolina, Mrs. Rosa (Dan) Price of Barnwell, South Carolina, Ms. Kayollie Ferguson, Mrs. Thelma (Fred) Pryor, Ms. Janice Smith and Ms. Jeanne Smith, all of Williston, South Carolina and Ms. Pearl Dowling of Aiken, South Carolina; His nieces and nephew: Ms. Erica Yvette Rogers-Hayes of Tega Cay, South Carolina, Mr. Hosea Mario Addison-Hayes and Little Miss Genesis Addison-Hayes, both of Orangeburg, South Carolina; His god-mother, Ms. Bernice Green of Aiken, South Carolina; Numerous cousins and sympathizing friends.
