Varnville, South Carolina—Funeral service for Deacon Able Doe, 72, was held Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at Harmonia Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina. Interment, committal, and final prayer followed in the church cemetery.
The family received the comfort and support friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Washington’s Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements.
Deacon Able Doe, son of the late Mr. Alfred Doe & Mrs. Sophie Doe, was called from labor to reward on Friday, September 10, 2010 at Kindred Hospital, Charleston, South Carolina following an extended illness. He was born July 12, 1938 in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
He was educated in the public schools of Jasper County, South Carolina. Upon graduation, Deacon Doe relocated to Cleveland, Ohio where he was employed by National Investment and Security Service, Incorporated, Cleveland, Ohio. At an early age, he confessed Christ and became a baptized member of 1st Heyward Baptist Church, Ridgeland, South Carolina. He subsequently became affiliated with 1st Euhaw Baptist Church, Ridgeland, South Carolina. Because of distance and declining health, Deacon Doe united himself as a Deacon at Harmonia Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina. He was also a member of the Knight Hawks Motorcycle Club, Burton, South Carolina.
Deacon Able Doe had an avid interest in collecting vintage cars and motorcycles.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Elouise Hicks Doe.

Dominic Bolden of Savannah, Georgia and Marketta Bolden of Okatie, South Carolina; (4) Great grandchildren: Tyler Gadsden, Adreyan Tolliver, Adam Tolliver and Andrew Tolliver; (7) Step grandchildren; (4) Sisters: Mrs. Cherrie Bass, Mrs. Virginia Logan, and Mrs. Jeanette White, all of Ridgeland, South Carolina and Mrs. Vergie Mae Smith of Manhattan, New York; (1) Brother, Mr. Henry DuPont of Ridgeland, South Carolina; His mother-in-law, Ms. Florrie Thomson of Varnville, South Carolina; His Sister-in-law: Mrs. Dorothy Doctor (Pastor Thomas) of Varnville, South Carolina; His brothers-in-law: Mr. Larry Priester (Carrie) and Elder Haiston Priester (Barbara Ann), all of Varnville, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
