On Monday afternoon, February 14, 2011, God called one of his children home to rest as Mr. Charles Michael Pressey slept away to humble submission at the Aiken County Regional Hospital, in Aiken, South Carolina. Mr. Pressey was the youngest child born April 15, 1955, to the late Deacon George Pressey, Sr. and the late Sis. Dorothy Hughes Pressey in Blackville, South Carolina. Five siblings have preceded him in death: Arthur, George, Phinice, Annette, and Curtis.
Bro. Pressey joined the Shrub Branch Baptist Church at an early age and remained a faithful member for his entire life.
“Michael”, as he was fondly called by everyone, attended Blackville-Hilda Public Schools in Blackville, South Carolina. Michael’s greatest past time was eating, although he never seemed to gain a pound. He also loved to socialize and appeared to be known as if he was a politician no matter where he was!
Left to cherish his memory: Four Sisters: Mrs. Elouise Raysor of Blackville, South Carolina; Mrs. Zelma (Harold) Harvey of Greenville, Texas; Ms. Josephine Pressey of Brentwood, New York; Mrs. Mary Kirkland of Blackville, South Carolina. Three Brothers: Mr. Lloyd (Christine) Pressey of Brooklyn, New York; Mr. Eugene Pressey of Chicago, Illinois; Mr. Willie Edward (Sarah) Pressey of Deer Park, New York; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Michael will always be remembered for his quick wit and outgoing personality. He particularly adored his oldest sister, Elouise. He will be greatly missed. .
