| Varnville, South Carolina�Funeral Service for Ms. Annie Mae Washington Doctor, 80, will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009, 3:00 P.M. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina. Interment will follow in the Frampton Cemetery of Varnville.
Visitations will be held Saturday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of 12:00 Noon on Sunday. Washington�s Funeral Home of Hampton has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
The Obituary
Ms. Annie Mae Washington Doctor was born in Varnville, Hampton County, South Carolina on February 26, 1929. She was a daughter of the late Mr. George Washington, Sr. and Mrs. Hattie Mae Priester Washington.
On Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Hampton Regional Medical Center, Varnville, South Carolina, our Heavenly Father called our beloved, Ms. Annie Mae Washington Doctor to rest from the toils of an extended illness.
At an early age in life, Ms. Annie Mae Washington Doctor became a baptized member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. There, she served faithfully.
Ms. Doctor was educated by the public school system of Hampton County, South Carolina.
She was married to the late Mr. Jethro Doctor.
In addition to being a loving housewife and mother, she was dearly fond of quilting, cooking and being a gracious host to everyone. She never met a stranger! And, her love for others was demonstrated in her ability to care for family members and others as well.
Along with her parents, nine siblings have preceded her in death: Mary Helen Riley, Alfreda Wright, Marilyn Washington, Thomas Washington, George Washington, Jr., Columbus Washington, Jimmy Lee Washington, Eunice Washington and Ethel Washington.
To cherish loving memories are six children. (3) Sons: Mr. Jeff Doctor of Hartford Connecticut, Mr. Charles Doctor (Mrs. Marilyn) of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Mr. Elvis Lavern Doctor of Varnville, South Carolina; (3) Daughters: Ms. Vergie Doctor of Stratford, Connecticut, Ms. Vera Doctor Wright and Ms. Diane Doctor, both of Varnville, South Carolina; (9) Grandchildren; (18) Great Grandchildren; (1) Brother: Mr. James Washington of Fairfax, South Carolina; (2) Sisters: Ms. Nora Washington and Ms. Carrie Lou Davis, both of Varnville, South Carolina; (1) Aunt: Ms. Carrie Mae Priester of Varnville, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews (which includes a devoted nephew, Mr. Larry Riley), cousins (which includes a devoted cousin, Mr. Willie Priester) and friends (which includes a devoted friend and caregiver, Ms. Dorothy Owen).
