Varnville, South Carolina—Funeral service for Ms. Lillie Mae Cohen Collins, 66, of 135 Priester Street, will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2011 at Samaritan Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina. Interment, committal, and final prayer will be held at Ellis Cemetery, Varnville, South Carolina. Pastor Van Gaines & Evangelist Elise McQuire will be officiating.
The family will receive visitation on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm. at the funeral home. Washington’s Funeral Home of Hampton is entrusted with arrangements.
Ms. Lillie Mae Cohen Collins, loving known as “Boota” was born July 6, 1944 in Varnville, South Carolina to the late Mr. Charles and Mrs. Lillie Smith Cohen. She was called to eternal rest on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at The Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina, following an extended illness.
She was a faithful member of Samaritan Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina until her health began to fail.
Lillie was employed at the Hampton County Country Club for many years. For many years, she lovingly cared for and watched after her family, until her health began to fail.
Preceding her in death are her parents; (2) Sisters: Ms. Bessie Lou Green and Ms. Anna Collins; (1) Brother, Mr. Freddie Priester; And a devoted friend, Mr. John C. Collins.
To cherish loving memories are: Her sister, Mrs. Mary Jenkins (Mr. Melvin) of Varnville, South Carolina; Devoted nieces: Ms. Fredricka Dunbar, Ms. Gloria Green and Ms. Alleane Collins, all of Varnville, South Carolina, Mrs. Clarissa Geddis (Mr. Gary) of Hampton, South Carolina and Mrs. Kimberly Williams (Mr. Deondra) of Virginia; Loving nephews: Mr. Charlie Cohen (Mrs. Elaine) and Mr. Charles Cohen of New York, Mr. Daniel Collins of Varnville, South Carolina and Mr. Alvin Jenkins (Mrs. Daphne); Special friends: Ms. Alma Holloway, Evangelist Norma Capers and Mr. Danny Joe Green, all of Varnville, South Carolina and Ms. Kathy Rivers of Greenville, South Carolina; A devoted friend, Mr. Bobby Wright of Varnville, South Carolina; A host of loving great nieces, great nephews and sympathizing friends.
